History of Way Engineering Ltd.

In 1918, a modest, but dedicated refrigeration business opened its doors in Houston, Texas.  Who could have predicted the ensuing rise to prominence of both the city and its newest company?

Today, Houston is internationally renowned. And Way Engineering Ltd. is one of our nation's largest and most experienced mechanical contractors, specializing in the design/build of commercial air conditioning and plumbing/piping systems.

Over the years, Way Engineering has progressed by pioneering new technologies of mechanical system contracting. In the 1930's heating and ventilation projects kept the company busy. It pioneered the use of ice as a cooling agent in early thermal storage air conditioning systems installed in churches and movie theaters...a technology used extensively today.

During World War II, Way was active in the installation of mechanical equipment for barracks and other armed forces facilities across the state of Texas.  With the war's end came the age of modern air conditioning in Houston, where every building suddenly needed that technology. Way's focus quickly shifted to air conditioning and the company's growth in the last fifty years has reflected an emphasis in that market segment.

From the beginning, Way Engineering has been known as an innovator in the HVAC industry. And many technological advances employed in mechanical contracting today can be traced to the design/construction capabilities and leadership of four generations of the Way family and its experienced, professional staff.
